Authorship and Contributorship
The International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems (IJPEDS) applies the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) to ensure transparency in author contributions and to prevent authorship disputes. Authors are encouraged to include a CRediT statement in the manuscript, detailing each contributor's roles. A minimum of two authors is recommended, with one designated as the corresponding author, who manages all communication during submission, review, and publication.
1. CRediT Role Definitions
To be eligible for authorship, each individual must have contributed to at least one of the following core research activities: Conceptualization, Methodology, Formal Analysis, or Investigation, and to at least one aspect of writing: either Original Draft Preparation or Writing – Review & Editing.
- C: Conceptualization
- M: Methodology
- So: Software
- Va: Validation
- Fo: Formal Analysis
- I: Investigation
- R: Resources
- D: Data Curation
- O: Writing – Original Draft
- E: Writing – Review & Editing

2. Authorship Change Requests
Authorship (including the order of authors and the designated corresponding author) must be finalized at the time of the initial submission. Changes to authorship are exceptions, not routine practice, and are only considered under strict conditions.
- Valid reasons only: Changes will be considered only for justifiable reasons such as proven administrative errors, significant changes in contribution before acceptance, or identity errors. Personal or informal requests will not be accepted.
- Written consent required: All listed authors (both original and proposed) must provide signed, written consent for any change.
- Editorial approval: All requests are subject to evaluation and approval by the Editor-in-Chief, who may reject requests lacking sufficient justification.
- Timing restrictions: Changes after acceptance are rarely approved. Post-publication changes require a formal published correction with transparent explanation.
- No facilitation of unethical behavior: Requests suspected of unethical intent (e.g., manipulating academic credit) will be rejected.
- Record-keeping: All requests and supporting documents will be archived by the editorial office.
This policy follows the COPE Core Practices and aims to protect the integrity of authorship while ensuring fair credit for contributions.
Ethics and Research Integrity
IJPEDS adheres to the COPE Core Practices and internationally accepted standards of research integrity. All authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to uphold these standards.
Authors must:
- Present accurate, original, and verifiable research and avoid fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
- Obtain and document ethical approval for studies involving human participants or animals, and secure informed consent where applicable.
- Ensure all listed authors have made a significant contribution to the work and share collective responsibility for the content.
- Disclose all funding sources, affiliations, and potential conflicts of interest.
- Obtain permission for the use of third-party material (e.g., images, datasets) and clearly attribute such material in the manuscript.
Allegations of ethical misconduct (including plagiarism, data fabrication/falsification, undeclared conflicts of interest, or unethical research practices) will be investigated according to COPE guidelines. Proven violations may result in rejection, correction, retraction, and/or notification to the authors’ institutions or funding bodies.
For detailed information on the journal’s ethical standards and publication guidelines, please refer to the Publication Ethics policy available on the IAES Publisher website or contact the editorial office.
Peer Review Policy
The International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems (IJPEDS) maintains the highest standards of academic integrity and quality through a single-blind peer review process. In this system, reviewers are aware of the authors’ identities, but authors do not know the identities of reviewers.
Review Procedure
- All submitted manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial team for scope, originality, and adherence to submission guidelines.
- Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least five independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
- Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on originality, technical quality, methodology, relevance, clarity, and ethical compliance.
- The review process typically takes 8–12 weeks, depending on reviewer availability.
- Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Decline Submission.
- All correspondence, including editorial decisions and revision requests, is communicated via email.
Ethical Considerations
Authors are expected to present research honestly and transparently, avoiding fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or inappropriate data manipulation. Reviewers and editors uphold the highest standards of publication ethics in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Appeals
The decision of the Editors is final. Authors may appeal editorial decisions by providing a detailed justification. Appeals are considered by the editorial board, but are not guaranteed to result in a change of decision.
The peer review process of this journal follows the standardized procedures as outlined by IAES Publisher. For full details, please refer to the Peer Review Policy on the IAES website.
Plagiarism and Misconduct
The International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems (IJPEDS) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and addresses all forms of plagiarism and research misconduct. This policy outlines the procedures and actions taken in cases of plagiarism, unethical withdrawal, retractions, and other forms of publication malpractice, in accordance with COPE Core Practices and international publishing standards.
1. Plagiarism Policy
- All forms of plagiarism are strictly prohibited, including plagiarism of others’ work, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and use of content without proper citation.
- Manuscripts must be original. Authors are encouraged to verify originality using reliable plagiarism detection tools prior to submission.
- The editorial team screens all submissions for similarity. Manuscripts with substantial overlap to previously published work may be returned for revision or rejected before peer review.
- Plagiarism detected at any stage before publication will result in rejection. Post-publication plagiarism will lead to retraction, with a notice published on the journal website.
- Severe violations may be reported to authors’ affiliated institutions or relevant authorities, following COPE guidelines.
- Authors are expected to comply with this policy during submission and throughout the publication process.
2. Handling of Misconduct Reports
- Allegations of research or publication misconduct can be reported confidentially to the editorial office via official contact channels.
- All reports are investigated thoroughly and impartially according to COPE Core Practices, ensuring fair process for all parties.
- Appropriate actions may include rejection, correction, retraction, notification to authors’ institutions, and/or sanctions depending on severity.
- IJPEDS is committed to ethical and transparent practices at all stages of submission, review, and publication.
Article Correction, Retraction & Withdrawal Policy
The International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems (IJPEDS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. This policy provides guidance on manuscript withdrawal, post-publication corrections, and retractions, in accordance with COPE Core Practices and international publishing standards.
1. Manuscript Withdrawal
Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript only under legitimate and unavoidable circumstances, such as:
- Discovery of significant errors
- Ethical concerns (e.g., authorship disputes or unapproved use of data)
- Other unavoidable and justified reasons
All withdrawal requests must:
- Be submitted in writing to the editorial office
- Provide a clear and valid explanation
- Be confirmed by all listed authors (via signature or email confirmation)
Withdrawal requests are evaluated carefully to ensure fairness to authors, reviewers, and the journal. Unethical withdrawal—such as removing a manuscript after acceptance to submit elsewhere—is prohibited.
Withdrawal requests may incur administrative or processing fees as determined by the journal. Authors will be informed of any applicable fees before the request is processed.
2. Post-Publication Corrections
Minor errors that do not affect the scientific validity or overall conclusions may be corrected via:
- Erratum: For errors introduced by the journal during production
- Corrigendum: For author-initiated corrections
All corrections will be clearly linked to the original article and publicly accessible.
3. Retractions
Retractions are issued for published articles that contain serious ethical violations or errors, including but not limited to:
- Plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Duplicate or redundant publication
- Unethical research practices
- Severe methodological flaws
Retraction notices will:
- Be clearly labeled and linked to the original article
- Explain the reason for retraction and indicate who initiated it (authors, editors, or institution)
- Ensure the retracted article remains accessible but clearly marked as "Retracted"
All retractions are conducted in accordance with COPE guidelines.
4. Pre-Publication vs Post-Publication Actions
- Withdrawal: Before publication; only for valid and ethical reasons, with potential administrative fees.
- Correction: After publication; minor errors corrected via erratum or corrigendum without affecting research validity.
- Retraction: After publication; serious ethical or scientific issues lead to retraction to maintain the scholarly record.
5. Exceptional Article Removal
In rare cases, an article may be permanently removed if it is defamatory, violates legal rights, is subject to a court order, or poses serious risk to public health or safety. A note will be displayed in place of the article to explain the reason for removal.
6. Editorial Responsibility
The editorial team investigates all allegations of misconduct transparently and fairly. Decisions regarding withdrawals, corrections, or retractions are made following international best practices.
This policy is aligned with:
Data Availability & Transparency
The International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems (IJPEDS) is committed to upholding transparency, reproducibility, and research integrity. All manuscripts submitted to IJPEDS must include a Data Availability Statement. Manuscripts without this statement will not be considered for review.
